HISTORY

Wesley was an anxiety ridden cubicle dwelling loser who was abused by almost everyone in his life; his overweight female boss, a local Latino gang, his adulterous girlfriend and his best friend who was fucking aforementioned girlfriend on Wesley's shitty IKEA table. His mother was a pacifist, and taught Wesley to abide by that way of life in the hopes to keep him out of trouble-- his father having left the first week after Wesley was born.

His life was turned on it's side when he comes across Fox, a beautiful, powerful, woman who shoots up a pharmacy attempting to kill Cross, the man they claimed had killed Wesley's father a few days prior.

Taken away by Fox he's brought to meet The Fraternity, a thousand year old secret society of assassins. Sloan then tells Wesley that his constant crippling panic-attacks are actually a latent super human ability, his heart rate firing rapidly beyond normal levels and his body being flooded with exceptionally high levels of adrenaline; working with his abnormal genetics to give him super human strength, speed and reflexes. Holding a gun to Wesley's head Sloan proves the truth to his statement by forcing having Wesley shoot the wings off of a fly. The Fraternity try to bring him in amongst their ranks but he refuses; instead deciding to return to work, refusing the fortune in favor of retaining his pacifist nature.

However, when he checks his bank account at work he discovers The Fraternity has deposited millions of dollars into his account, money that supposedly belonged to his deceased father. He tells off Janice, his overweight boss who constantly induced his panic attacks by screaming at him and snapping a stapler in his ear, and then cracks his former 'best friend' in the face with a keyboard on the way out. Having expected such a reaction to the sudden bank account, Fox was already waiting outside his former place of enployment to take them to The Fraternity's headquarters-- a textile mill.

Wesley has to under go animalistic and brutal training in order to prepare him for their work; Beaten in the face by The Repair Man for days while tied to a chair, taught to curve bullets with Fox and The Gunsmith, forced to endure long knife battles with The Butcher. There is some small reprieve in a man they call The Exterminator, a Russian explosives expert that proves to be one of Wesley's only friends, if not a bit mentally unsound.

He learns of the Loom of Fate which apparently weaves the threads of life and 'fate' and through code embedded in the threads tells Sloan who the next target is for assassination. Wesley is unsure of the idea of listening to a loom on whom they should kill, until Fox confides in him that someone neglecting to kill the person they were assigned because they had the same reservations as Wesley, was the reason her father was burned alive by a hired killer.

Wesley spots Cross in an alleyway gives chase, only to find himself shot in the arm with a traceable custom bullet in the right shoulder. Taking this as a sign Cross wants a stand off, as he could have just as easily killed him instead of non-mortally wounding him, Wesley persuades Sloan to let him go after Cross, however, unbeknownst to him Sloan gives Fox the assignment of killing Wesley once the newest assassin has finished his off Cross. Wesley travels to meet Perwarsky who, under threat of death, arranges a meeting for Wes with Cross.

Finally he finds Cross on a passenger train, he and Wesley end up in a gun fight so drastic that it derails the car and then the entire train they were traveling on. Cross saves Wesley's life by pulling him up from falling out into the ravine Wesley shoots him in the chest claiming it was retribution for killing his father. Cross tells Wesley that he is in actuality his father, and Wesley refuses to believe it thinking it was a trick on Cross' part till Fox confirms his tale. The Fraternity having known all along that Wesley was the only person Cross would let get close to him without killing since the man was the former top assassin. She attempts to kill Wesley right after, but he shoots out the glass window of the train and drops down into the water making his escape.

Wesley is retrieved and tended to by the gunsmith, Perwarsky, who takes him to the apartment his father had been living in-- right across from Wesley's own, telling him that Cross had been watching over him since he was a boy but stayed out of his life to keep him safe. He tells Wesley that Cross had discovered that Sloan was calling hits for money and his father had gone rogue in order to stop him and that's why they had Cross killed. Wesley finds his fathers stash of guns and maps, formulating a plan for revenge.

After killing nearly every Fraternity member except for a the select few who had trained him he reveals to the others that Sloan had been using them all as hired hits and that's why they had so much money. Sloan tells the members that all of their names had come up at some point and urges them to kill Wesley instead. Fox, who believes in the code because of what had happened to her curves a bullet around the room, killing all the master assassins and then finally herself-- saving Wesley's life in this last act. Sloan escapes and Wesley is enraged and destroys the loom of fate deciding it wasn't their place to say who lives and dies.

Sloan removes all the money from Wesley's account, leaving him broke and homeless, much like the person he was at the beginning of the film. Sloan arrives in Wesley's former place of work, pointing a gun at the back of the man's head, but when aforementioned man turns around it's reveled that it isn't Wesley at all, just someone with his same style of hair and wearing the stripped shirt Wesley had favored, cluing Sloan into the fact the whole thing had been a set up. Sloan can barely utter a few words before a bullet pierces his skull from miles away.

And that is just where Wesley's story begins...
